Getting their Gelli on!

On Saturday I taught a large class of 12 creative ladies , who all wanted to learn more about their Gelli Plate. Crammed into the classroom, with lots of different mediums, we had a ball of a morning, and everyone of them went home with great prints, and hopefully a little bit more knowledge on how to use their Gelli plate :)
Here are a few photos, of them working hard, and showing off their brilliantly creative prints!

I will definitely be doing more classes.. so watch this page :)
I will be back soon with a tutorial on how to print the leaves....

Leafing it!

I have been experimenting and playing ( well working really! ) with my Gelli plate this week, in readiness for a workshop I am teaching on Saturday. I love this medium, partly because printing of any kind, be it on fabric, paper, or making lino prints, was my favourite medium at school  and later at art college. Wonder why I like stamping?! LOL
I used lots of paints and inks to create these, and maybe you can tell I am rather hooked on leaves! here are a few that I have made....

Christmas is a'coming!

Aaargh! I said the "C" word! But it is all in a good cause, as yesterday Georgina held a fabulous jam packed workshop at The Artistic Stamper, and we made Christmas cards! In fact I made my first one of the year ..( and it could possibly be my last, knowing me!!) I certainly don't make cards, but in-between doing other stuff, I took part and made this a couple of cards! Loved the fact that Georgina has such clear instructions, and that everyone made such beautiful cards. Definitely a class you should do if you haven't done one before! Check out Georgina's other classes here.

The Calm before the Storm!

Visiting London....

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with some American friends who had come over here on a  trip to the UK. As they were passing through London we went and met up with them, to show them some of my home town. Did we get far?  Well in an afternoon we saw some of my favourite museum- the V & A , a tea time trip to Harrods, and dinner in Covent Garden! All in an afternoon! I love the V & A and I was amazed to find one of my treasures I have collected over the years displayed there... I have this tin, although in a much more distressed look :(

I also made a little travelling book for Kristen as a gift, and was rather pleased with how it turned out...lots of distress ink, Tim's Alphaparts, The Artistic Stamper European map background, and some of my personal Tim stamps...

Scrapyard Challenge with Andy Skinner

Last Saturday we had the wonderfully patient and very talented Andy Skinner come to teach at The Artistic Stamper. I even took part, which was a fab experience for me, and I have to say anyone who has never taken a class Andy, definitely should! Paint takes on a new dimension with him ! I know everyone had a brilliant day :)
Here are a few pictures from the day, and my mirror too!

Welcome to October's Challenge-Alter Something

We have had a brilliantly sunny summer here in the UK, and I, for one, cannot believe that Autumn is almost here, and will be gone in a flash..swiftly followed by winter! Ugh! But never mind, The Artistic Stamper Challenge will help you create summer in your mind :)  Over on the Creative Team blog the girls have done a fabulous job altering something! I also joined in this month, and altered another mirror, this time totally different to my other one. I covered it in lots of textural pieces, and then gessoed the entire piece. Add lots of Dylusions sprays, a few pieces of moulded UTEE, and I altered my plain Ikea mirror...

We would love you to join in, it can be anything as long as you have altered it and used stamps too! Check out the Team's creations over on the blog
