Soft and smooth...

like a baby's bottom.. that's how the advert goes! If my memory serves me right those are the words for an advert for baby wipes, or is it baby powder? Either way it doesn't matter, but yesterday I spent a very fine afternoon playing with baby wipes, in between small demos to customers at Pickleberry Papercrafts!
Sarah was there, and she showed me this wonderful technique she had done, using baby wipes. Now I know that if I use baby wipes to mop up, clean stamps, clean my hands ( you are joking of course! ) my hands are always inky!! lol, I just throw them away. Sarah keeps them , dries them out, glues them to clear packaging, (we used Tim Holtz packaging) and die cuts them! Absolutely gorgeous, especially when covered in multi-coloured inks! I especially liked the soft and smooth feel of the underside, or you could make it the top, as the wipes dry out , they become velvety, and smooth to touch, hence the title of the post!
Here is a little card I made using the technique...now off to colour up some wipes with inks and sprays!
Have a Creative Sunday!

another inspirational idea, trouble is my baby wipes are so messy when I've finished with them they're only fit for the bin.....by the way they make great floor cleaners and I also use them to wipe down my worksurfaces when I get a stubborn ring mark when MR Muscle doesn't do the job.

Long strips of baby wipes, twisted then carefully wound round and round, make the most fabulous flowers too. I like your idea though and will give that one a go.

I love the idea of making something beautiful out of rubbish! What sort of clear packaging do you use to back it with? Is it that stiff acetate that they make blister packs out of? I'm in the UK and not sure what you mean. Sounds a great technique to try!

What a great idea. Thanks for sharing Jennie. I think I need to raid my bin as I threw away loads of packaging yesterday after a shopping spree at a craft fayre and the amount of baby wipes I get through is unbelievable!
