CHA-revisited

It seems like months ago that I was in California! It is almost two weeks since I returned!! Time has flown since I got back, and I realised that I hadn't shown you any of the artwork I found amongst the booths, nor have I shown you any of the projects I made at the workshops. Nor, have I even got together my giveaway for you!! Tut tut!! I am sure that you might have seen some of these on other blogs, but they are such lovely pieces, that I am sure you will look again! There were even pieces from two home grown girls....Kaz Hall and Kate Crane. I have to admit I am not sure who some of the artwork is by , so if you recognise a piece please do let me know.

New Pop-up Workshops!

Now if you are wondering what a "pop up" workshop is, then I will explain. Often I plan my workshops quite a long way ahead, but at the moment, I am rather liking the idea of using the free Saturdays we have in the classroom to do pop up workshops, i.e. ones that I plan a couple of weeks ahead, so that they are fresh, and new, and use current products! This in mind I decided to teach a workshop using products that I used at CHA, and I just loved the class I took with Graphic 45 and Laura Dennison using the Place in Time 12 x 12 papers.  I wanted to teach it while it was fresh in my mind,  although I am sure I will learn more from my pupils!! Here is a sneaky peek of one of the pages.

You can book this class, and my other pop up (or as Mal calls it my pop in!!) class here. You will get ALL the products plus more, and the chance to use all the inks and sprays etc that we have in the classroom. If you fancy travelling to see us, then we can always recommend a good bed and breakfast or hotel to stay. Just give us a ring or email.
Hoping the snow has disappeared by then, Keep warm and have a creative evening Hugs

Winner of my Birthday Candy... at last!!

Finally, I have drawn breath, and remembered that I had to pick a winner of my Birthday Blog candy! Thank you to everyone who joined in, and of course I couldn't pick by myself , so I used Mr Random.org to do it, and he came up with number 63 who was.... drum roll please....
Congratulations, and please email me, so I can send off your candy to you. I hope to be back later with more news from CHA AND a special pop up workshop for Saturday 2nd February! Have a creative day

CHA....the post!

I am back from a not so warm California (ok the sun shone, but not as brightly or as hot as I would have liked!) and the CHA ( Craft & Hobby Association) show! I had fully intended to blog while there, but the Internet connection in the hotel would not let me load pictures, so after several futile attempts I gave up! The show was as always, great for seeing new product, and lots of meeting and greeting! I bumped into lots of UK people I know, and lots of US people I know!! Did I drink a cocktail courtesy of my wonderful friend Wendy? Yes I did! Thank you, in fact I had several!! LOL
I also took several workshops with Donna ( who came with me) learning new product and technique, and am very geared up to teach it all!! Well, ok not quite, but almost! :) Did I buy? yes! Do I have samples ? Yes!! Do I have for you? Yes! But you will have to be patient, as I have to go through my bags, and get it all ready for you... think it calls for a giveaway!
I even remembered my camera, although some of my photos are on my phone, so I still have to download those!
If you are coming over to the shop, then I will have all my samples and workshop pieces there, so come and see! Here are a few pictures of mine, with more to come later next week...this was just a few of my highlights :)

Suze Weinberg-fabulous as always!

Linda Ledbetter.. a gorgeous girl!
Sue Pickering Rothamel.. love this girl!
Mr Distress!
Cheers to Disney! Kristin and Donna-we spent most of the time laughing!
Off now to catch up with my jet lag, which appears to be non existent....

Birthday Blog Candy!

Hi! I love celebrating as you probably know if you read my blog and today is the start of a new year for me, as it is my birthday!! I also love the fact that I also share my birthday with TIm Holtz!! Capricorn babies unite!! No extra prizes for guessing my age, suffice it to say, I am marginally nearer retirement age than last year!! LOL
What better way to celebrate than to give you my readers a present! I have put together a little bit of candy with some of my favourite products to give one of you a Happy Birthday from me! All you have to do is leave me a comment, and if you fancy it share it with your friends too for an extra entry! I will leave this here for a week or so, and will pick the winner on my return.

Popping Up!

I love it when a plan comes together, and about a week ago or so, I decided that this year, in the shop, I would do the occasional "pop up" workshop. Meaning that if we had a free day in the classroom, I would hold a mini workshop. Yesterday we had eight lovely ladies making alcohol ink induced ATC's for their pleasure. Thank you girls for joining me , it was a fun morning!

Of course I forgot to take any photos of their creations, but here are a few of mine. All done with alcohol inks , and using various techniques.

I am busy getting ready for my trip to CHA ( Craft & Hobby Association )Winter Trade Show , held in Anaheim , home of Mr Mickey Mouse! It seems that time always runs away with me, and this year has started off, the way it obviously means to go on.. with very little of it ( time that is!!), but hey ho, Sundays in my world are days of work... sad I know! Do pop by for a special blog post tomorrow, it will be a celebration one!
Have a very creative Sunday
