Gearing up for Craft Stamper!

It has been an amazing start to my 20th year in the craft business ( is it really that long?!!) with lots going on at the shop, and new stamps, guest designers and guests coming to teach in our classroom. I feel very blessed, and even more so that
 Craft Stamper feature one of my designs as their free stamp on the cover :)

Love this little stamp, and you can get some fabulous ideas from the magazine, with designs by Kaz Hall and myself.
I cannot show you anything in the magazine, but I did make a little tag book using Ice Resin paper as the cover, and featuring the stamp.
I made the paper by brushing on Ice Resin onto old dictionary paper, and letting it dry. I added the stamp  by embossing it in gold. Add a few charms and some distress ink to the edges of the page...and you have a mini notebook.  I do hope you like it, and check out the magazine for more ideas and great articles.

Stamping Contrasts in Craft Stamper!

I did tell you that buses often come along in twos, and today the third bus came along in quick succession, as I got my April copy of Craft Stamper today, and oooh I have been published! Actually, The Artistic Stamper supplied the stamps set for the projects that myself, Kate Crane, Gail Milburn and Joanne Allison created. I am loving them all.. I cannot show you any of them, but there will be an extra piece by myself on line after the magazine is officially out.   Check out the back page too! I have designed the free stamp for the enxt issue :)) The magazine is officially out on Friday, and we will have copies in the shop.

Published in March Craft Stamper!

It has been a while since I have had anything published in a magazine, and I was very chuffed when Katie asked me if I would like to do Stamping Contrasts in the current ( March ) issue of Craft Stamper.

All the designers used the Swirls, Splats and Dots A5 die sheet from The Artistic Stamper, and I have only briefly seen the magazine (waiting for my copy to arrive) , but the creations are just gorgeous!
Here is one of my pieces, ( apologies for the awful photo, which I took as they were being packed up to be sent off...always at the last miniute!!LOL) If you fancy making this , then all the ingredients are in the magazine article.

Off now to get stamps moulded for Stamperama, coming up fast next Sunday 12th February!

New Year, New video!

I love it when there is a significance to a new year, and is 2010 the beginning of a new decade or the end of an old one? Technically there are 10 years in a decade and this is the tenth year, so you see my dilemma? Does it really matter, as this year I shall be trying making more art, trying to be more organised ( ha ha!) , and errr trying to be more tidy! The last one is a bit of a joke, as people who know me, know my tendency to lose stuff, but always claiming to know where it is! How many drawers have I opened last year looking for stuff, only to find I had moved it the week before, and had forgotten!!! I ALWAYS blame the ghost that lives in our house!!
This year will be my FIFTEENTH year as a rubber stamp manufacturer, and we will have lots of new designs, and lots more Mabel for you! Just watch this space!
I was thrilled this week to find out Hels' gorgeous creation using the Stitchels stamps was on the FRONT COVER of Craft Stamper magazine here in the UK, and there is a wonderful tutorial inside showing you how to make grungepaper roses using one of the Stitchels flower stamps.

Just by fortuitous fortune ( coo that is a long word!), and I truly did not know Hels had made front cover, I had made a video showing how to make Grungepaper Roses, and was planning to upload it today :) Watch out in the video for the Glossy Accents glue bottle which I had cut off the top too, as it had got very bunged up, and so now pours out glue! Much mess was made, and if you look closely you will see inky sticky fingers too! I did edit out the sneeze too..lol

It has been a really good month for me already, I thought I would treat you to some blog candy! I know everyone loves blog candy, and this one is no exception!
If you didn't know, The Artistic Stamper has the design of the free stamp on the front of Craft Stamper's May issue, and it is a swirly bird, and Hels has designed some more birds and wonderful nature stamps to go with him here. If you would like the Craft Stamper special offer then go here

We have several projects in the magazine too showing you how to use the little bird, and there is even a giveaway of a pair of earrings I made! If you haven't got a copy , do go and get one, and have a play with the stamp.

Mirror, mirror....

This week's Objet D'art Challenge is to alter a mirror.
I found this mirror in one of my local "stash" shops, and it has taken me a little while to alter it due to the fact that I crackle painted the whole mirror in Bronze crackle paint by Ranger, and then added faces to the actual mirror with Stazon balck ink. I then added pearls around the outside with Glossy Accents. These kept slipping off, so it took me a little while longer than I anticipated! All the elements are available in the shop.

This Friday the May issue of Craft Stamper features a free stamp from us designed by Hels for The Artistic Stamper. I shall be making a couple of projects with the bird later next week. We havre a special offer in the shop too for co-ordinatring stamps, so have a gander and check out the new birds too!

A Present

I thought you might like to see what Lucy gave to me last week.She made a canvas from The Artistic Stamper products which I thought was gorgeous, and very kind of her. Lucy regularly does projects in Craft Stamper and is a member of our Creative Team too.

The background is using our pearlescent powder paints, the Gibson Girl die sheets, the Artist's die sheet, and fibres. I have to say the pictures do not do it justice.
