Tagging with Tim Holtz!

Part of this week was spent up in Coventry to do a Ranger retailer workshop with Tim Holtz (master of Distress) and Dyan Reaveley (girl with a journal or two...or three!!)  Organised by Personal Impressions, the day was full of tags and techniques and friends!

We spent the day learning new and old techniques, all of which I will demonstrate in the shop or at my workshops.. My mind is definitely a'buzzing!
One of the highlights of my trip was seeing old friends, having lunch with Kate, and catching up, as you do :)  meeting new ones, and I had a great evening amongst some wonderful people.. Brenda, Jenny, Annie, Rita and Chris. We laughed and then we laughed some more... my sides ached from laughing.. a great tonic! Thank you girls ....
Here are a few pictures from the day... sadly none of my new friends as muggins here didn't notice her camera was switched on and the battery drained just as we started the workshop!! Doh! Had to use my phone, which is ok, but not marvellous :(

The Artistic Stamper Store 1st Birthday Party

It is hard to believe that a year ago Mal and I ventured into our first retail emporium, and on Saturday we celebrated with lots of our customers. It was fab day , not dampened at all by the torrential rains or a road closing!  We welcomed everyone in to our make 'n takes by Georgina, Claudia and myself.  We even had a barbecue cooked by Lesley. And the service ( ding!) by Ginny, Liz and Kirsten provided was the bees knees!

Thank you to everyone who came by and made the day very special :)
I am getting ready to spend 3 days out of the office while I take a retailer workshop with the delightful Mr Holtz and  delectable Ms Reaveley up in Coventry... getting rather

Designers Showcase

Yesterday we were at Stamperama, a great little show not too far from us. It was great bumping into people I haven't seen for a while, and catching up and doing a little bit of demonstrating, and a bit of chatting too! We even bumped into Andy Skinner, who spent his day off at a stamp show! There is dedication for you! :)
Some of my wonderful Creative Team had sent me their recent work to display, and each one had their own board. To see their work in the flesh is just inspiring and stunning, and makes me feel very humble. I photographed all of their boards, so you could see it together, and a BIG shout out goes to all my designers, without whom, my stamps would just be rubber.. they give them life! Thank you

Having a go!

After having put all the new products that landed in the shop this week into " my basket", I just had to have a play with the new Dylusions blank inkpad and the new mini journal!
I used three colours like Dyan suggested and several backgrounds from The Artistic Stamper, a couple of stamps and my favourite alphabet stencil and had a play! Loving what you can do with it.. check out Dyan's videos here...

If you are coming to Stamperama, we will have them there and if not you can get them in the shop.

Have a creative and colourful day

Postcards Travels & Holidays over at The Creative Team

Woohoo! August has finally arrived and thank heavens we do seem to be getting a summer here in the UK! This month's challenge over on the Creative Team blog is all about holidays! the theme is Postcards, Travels and Holidays. The girls have done some gorgeous projects and mine is a take on a class taught by Georgina at The Shop!
I took one of our  tag postcards, and added some Dylusions Sprays. I then added the European map background, and lots of ephemera from the Labels Stamps stamped with Archival and distressed with Distress ink. I added some of the stickers and rubs elements and words from Tim Holtz's  idea-ology, and I used the words from Katy Fox's Carte Postale to add the other side.

Now for those of you who spot it, I have made a mistake, and as I had done the other side, I really couldn't change it. So for those who spot it, and mention it in a comment I will give away a set of the stamps that I have used. I will pick a winner next week, so watch this space!
Don't' forget to pop over to the Creative Team blog and check out the challenge... we would love you to join in :)

Hope you have a very creative day and if you are on holiday, have a sunny one!
