My first ever piece of Art?

I have always made art and crafts in some form or another, be it jewellery or cards or sewing, and this week my daughter spent some time clearing out her room, and had acquired some photos from my Mum in order to make a scrapbook for me. Needless to say , she didn't find the time to make it, but gave me the pile of old photos and very old school reports and a couple of letters that my mum had sent to her.
In amongst it was a card that I had obviously made for my parents. Inside it says Happy Easter love Jennifer! From the other pieces I am guessing it was made when I was about 8 or 9! Don't ask me if I drew it, have no idea and no recollection of doing it, but obviously I was making cards somewhere, be it school or Brownies ( were you a Brownie?) . It is painted and quite carefully too, so I am quite proud of it, and if anyone asks me when I started crafting I can now say quite a long time ago!

Do you have your first card and how old is it?
Keep creating and making Art...

Beautiful card, great talent at that age. Not got any of my cards from when I was young got rid of them all. Really regret doing it now. Thanks for sharing. Anesha

Very pretty, and very good for an 8 or 9 year old. Can't remember what my very first card was like, but my first stamped one, (or at least a copy of it), is (if the link works!) here.

I used to make Easter cards when I was a teenager, but don't have any of them - I know one had Alleluia painted in lilac on lilac card and then stippled lilac in two bands round the edge - a very simple card.

In the second year of secondary school I remember making a paper template of a butterfly and stencilling outside the edges so I got a sillhouette. The paint came out slightly powdery and the pastel colours looked very pretty.

PS That's a fine snowdrop for an eight year old - the talent was there early on!

How pretty and what a great momento. I remember a handmade card my sis made for me when she was about 7 or 8, handsewn and everything, one comment she came up with I remember to this day, "live and learn but don't get a burn". lol Hilarious. What great memories a handmade card can bring!!

What a lovely card, you had your talent at a very early age, that's easy to see!!
I think I was a late starter making cards, I can't remember my first one. I did cross stitch from an early age and only became a paper crafter fairly recently.

Hello Jenny,

this is a real treasure !
I don't remember when I made cards, but I do have a lot of my own drawings since I was a kid of 2,5...So, creating started early.

I got a awesome package of you today !!!!
I had nothing of all the stuff that you sended to me, so I reacted as a kid :) My daughter and husband looked weird at me...

I'm going to try the memorycapsules soon and make myself a nice hanger !

The silver dabber is also new for me : I'm going to try the transfers Claudine Hellmut makes with these !

The alcohol ink fillable pen is also something I'm going to try out : some people on ATT gave some great ideas.

thanks, thanks a lot for all this stuff and it will be used !

greetings from Belgium
Inge

That's so pretty. I lost my Mum last year and found a box of everything my sister and I had ever made her from when we were small tucked away in the back of her wardrobe. Such treasures.

I don't have the very first card I ever made, but it would be one of the first 3...I gave it to my dad for father's day and when he passed away, I found it in an envelope with the other cards I had given him over the years with a little note that said 'thanks Julie, love you dad'

I do have my very first rubber stamp that got me into stamping back in 1994.
