Daring to use Colour!

I have been playing with Dylusions Spray paints , and one of my altered books, a few stamps, and a couple of stencils. I am absolutely loving these colourful bright sprays from Ranger, and although neither of these pages are finished, I thought I would show you the colour! The white pen is a Picket Fence Distress pen, which is slow to show, but perfect for journalling. We have them in sets here. Pinq is the colour of the day! I did start off handwriting the word pink, but didn't like it which is the white mark under the stickers ( ran out of K's...lol Q is like K isn't it?) This was my first attempt...like that there is a mistake, just to remind me!

Catch up time! ....and winner of the blog candy

It's the weekend, and time for me to catch up on all the news that has been going on around here....We have been busy adding new products to the website... WOYWW 151...

Wednesday morning...light just coming up, and my desk is as it has been for several weeks.. a mess! Now there is no one to blame except myself, and if you think this is bad you should see the floor! No, you can't! It seems that really having time to create wonderful pieces of art has eluded me for several weeks....it could be that I need to tidy up!

So next week is tidyup week and watch this space for an ATC and the amazing 3rd anniversary of What's On Your Workdesk! I will be back with tidy desk in its honour!

Imagine....

Imagine life without art, and colour, and in my case stamps! What would we do? I know it is a little heavy for first thing in the morning, but I was just thinking....LOL
I was just unpacking my supplies from Ally Pally, and came across these two tags that I made at the show. Love the splats made with distress stains,

and the red tag shows  embossing with UTEE through a Crafter's Workshop stencil. Stamps used are from our Journaling range here

More new stamps... and a little candy

Good Day to you, and oh my! I have gone to write this post, and it has all changed!!! Now have to find my way around blogger again! WOYWW 150!

It's that day again.. you know the one in the middle of the week that comes between Tuesday and Thursday and involves a desk, and in my case this week tidiness! Wednesday, but not any Wednesday, a Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the delectable Mrs Dunnit! This week it is the 150th edition! Yea! I am showing you my rather tidy desk at Ally Pally on Saturday. I remembered to take a picture as I was chatting to some of the woywwers who popped by to see me , and pick up their freebie! It was fab to meet a few of them :) Bribery and corruption has always worked..LOL

I didn't take many pictures last weekend, but I did manage to capture a couple of pieces before I gave them away....

It is silly o'clock here at Artistic Towers, the big white van is packed to the roof for the London show, and I am very excited at taking our new stamps to the show! The lovely Kat Fullman has designed three brand new sets, with more in the pipeline.

Sneaky Peek!

Today we pack the van for The Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace, and we have some great treats in store for you! I will be demoing as usual, and getting messy, as usual! LOL  Almost everything is packed in boxes, just ready to unpack again... it is a weekend of unpacking and packing up boxes! I love seeing everyone, and if you are the proud owner of one of these,

Spray Tag Tutorial

Happy Good Friday to you! This weekend is a long weekend for everyone here in the UK, and at the moment here in the southeast of the UK, the sun is shining, and I have a very special visitor to play with today ( my husband's grandson :)) so cuddly!!) and I have lots of treats in store for you this weekend!
Firstly I thought I would share with you a technique I came across by accident a few weeks ago. Having been taught by Dyan Reaveley the technique of rolling a kitchen towel roll across wet spray paints to dry them. I was playing with Color Wash spray paints on glossy card, and this just happened!

I sprayed lots of colour onto a glossy card tag,

Wet sprays

and then rolled a patterned kitchen or paper towel across the paints to dry them. I rolled it lightly across and some of the paint stayed wet.. gorgeous patterns ensued!!

Patterned Paper towel.. perfect for other projects too!

Dried Glossy Tag

Dry the tag off with a heat tool, and then I stamped onto it with black Archival ink and some of The Artistic Stamper new stamps. . Loved this technique! Thanks Dyan!

Now onto Easter, and the wonderful world of Easter eggs!! Don't you just love it when there are prizes involved? Winners! of my blog candy competition

Finally I have got round to announcing the winners of my little blog candy competition! Apologies for the delay, but I have come down with some sort of indescribable viral something or other, and spent most of Sunday in bed shivering uncontrollably. As quickly as it arrived , it has almost gone, and although I am somewhat exhausted, I am nevertheless not cold anymore ( although I feel for those in Scotland who are having unseasonable snow!!)  I admit I cannot read or even proof read, and have got caught out big style on this set of stamps!!
