WOYWW 176... AWOL in the name of stamping

I have suddenly realised that I have been AWOL from my blog, which I have left to fend for itself, and is sadly very neglected, but never fear I am determined to get creating again in the very near future! In the meantime, Mrs Dunnit has decreed that we should show our workdesks every Wednesday. Mine is a bit like my blog, sad, and neglected, so instead I am going to show our new classroom at the shop, which is absolutely fabulous, new, clean and pristine, and definitely in need of some stamps!!  See: I have been busy, sort of, sorting this out ( ok Mal did most of it!!LOL)

We opened it on Saturday and some of my stamping girls came by, and decorated these... which will be given pride of place on the wall, when Mal has figured out how to put them up!! LOL

Last week, Shaz Silverwolf came into the shop, not once but twice!! It was lovely to meet someone from WOYWW, who loves to stamp.. did I get time to stamp too? NO, we were busy and so my time was spent behind the till! Next time definitely.

WOYWW 174…Deja Vu

Once again, Wednesday has arrived with a vengeance, and in my case a horrible sniffly cold, which is making me feel quite horrid I am never one to complain, but I don’t often get colds, so all I want to do is wrap up warm, and make it go away! Now, of course Wednesday is the day of What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the glorious Julia, who has deemed it necessary to show our workspace for a moment or two in the world of hyperspace. So, here is mine taken at Port Sunlight, ( very similar to last weeks) where we did our last show there after 14 years of driving up the motorway twice a year. Love the show, love my customers up there.. shall miss it, but time to concentrate on other things, including the shop, and our new workshop which will be almost fully functional next weekend ( 13th October) ! yea!!

WOYWW 173..from a different perspective

It is official, the only posts I seem to do at the moment are those of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! It has become habit forming, and every Tuesday I work out that the last time I posted was last Wednesday! that is not good :( . But I have been creating and I have a post due on the Creative Team on Saturday...watch this space! When did I make anything last? Well it was on Saturday and Sunday at The Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Ally Pally, and this is my desk ...note the small space left to create in! and sustenance in the form of a diet coke can!  It was great weekend and I got to play with stamps, and sprays and lots of gilding Flakes..lovely! oh, and of course meet some of the woywwers, and other friends :)

 

Thank you to Julia as always..she is definitely the hostess with the mostest! Pop along and see all the wonderful creative desks...

WOYWW 172....from the top

This will be the shortest post in the history of my What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday! I am very busy getting ready for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Ally Pally this weekend, amongst other stuff, but I had to just show you the newest stamps from woywwer Donna! Here they are on my desk ready for mounting and playing with at the weekend. I have ideas.. will they work?..possibly if I get time to try them out..if not I shall be trying them on Saturday and Sunday at the show!! and if you are wondering what the “meet the mascots” is ..try the Olympics! ..missing those days badly..lol

WOYWW 171- Missing Mrs Dunnit!

It seems that the only blog posts I have been doing regularly , and even that is a bit erratic, is What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Now it isn't for lack of trying, but more of time.. that errant feature in my life that has been slipping away from me recently! I know that there will be more time to create soon, but it is getting frustrating, and I haven't even got time to blog hop.. very naughty of me!
Even more remise of me, was that I was away doing a pre-arranged workshop for one of my wholesale customers- Jendenink, and who should turn up in the shop on Saturday but Mrs Dunnit!! That’s right! she of the WOYWW fame!! I was mortified when Mal told me she had arrived, and sorely upset that I didn’t get to see her. You see every time Julia comes to see me, I am away from my post! We will meet one day! ( perhaps I should ask her to come and do a workshop? What do you think?) Julia, I PROMISE to be there next time
Do I have a desk to show you.. yes! but my camera was playing games on Saturday , and this picture of the calm before the storm is a bit blurry. What a fun workshop it was! 16 lovely ladies who all had a ball playing with their altered books.

 

 I had a little play, and this is my niche for the day.

WOYWW 170

It has been a long week, and today ( Tuesday) is quite warm, and this picture of my rather full desk, shows the lovely light coming through the venetian blinds. Piled high are the new Distress Metallics – a definite must have for any crafter, a pile of reinkers for the summer, winter, autumn and spring distress inks (I kind of acquired them , when sorting for the shop!) , some of the very new Crafters workshop stencils, and a large catalogue underneath it all, which I will get to read eventually! Oh , yes and the VERY LARGE tags that appeared yesterday brought by a man in a brown suit  If you spot other things they are just there by default! And yes! we are OPEN, just have to put the sign together and hang on our door!
I am kind of liking my desk at the moment, and Mrs. Mojo is slowly coming back….not absolutely sure where she has been, but I do like it that I can take the pace slowly, and get stuff done I quite like.

Why my desk? Simply it is because Mrs Dunnit has deemed it perfectly alright for us to show you our desks on a Wednesday. Pop along and check them out, especially if you have never encountered so many in one place! Perfect!

WOYWW 165-on holiday

It’s that Day again- Wednesday, and I am up early , as I didn’t pre write this post, and while I listen to the early morning birdsong, and the passing distant traffic, I can imagine I am on holiday, sitting on warm sand with the sea lapping at my toes…sadly I am still at home, with the only water the sound of rain, and the only sand that of the pile of building sand in my garden! Still, I like Wednesdays as it is the day of What’s On Your Workdesk, and Julia’s take on the life of a scrapper My desk does have a holiday theme, and we are celebrating over on The Creative Team blog this month, with a theme for the challenge of holidays and lots and lots of giveaways as it is our birthday… two years to be precise! Where did the time go? This is my desk with my mini suitcase, and a few bits and bobs that are piled ( not so high) this week on my desk! I will of course try to get round to your desk this week, in-between spending my holiday watching the Olympics ( I am a confessed Olympic addict!!) .

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday....a great big pile...

Hello, and welcome to the wonderful world of What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday, hosted by the Chatty Mrs Dunnit. Now, I almost always take part, but sadly, I don't always participate in getting around to other desks, mainly due to the fact that I don't ever seem to have enough time. But I am always grateful to those who do visit. Thank you! This week, my sad neglected desk is full!! there is a box of charms, yet to be unpacked and restocked, some gorgeous new Fabric Sheets from Jolees boutique along with charms and other artifacts just thrown carelessly on the desk, and my pan pastels which I acquired more than a year ago, which haven't even been used! :(( I am determined to use them this side of Christmas!! The Quality Street tin is full of beads, obviously all the chocolates got eaten :(( and given to me by a friend, who didn't want or need them anymore...people seem to give me stuff...I cannot for the life of me think why!!!?

I will be round to yours, but may not make it to all...

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday...Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Alarmingly Wednesdays seeming to appear more regularly than most days of the week... worrying really when we have exactly the same days of the week every week. Maybe it is because every Wednesday I show you my workdesk or my space , wherever I may be.... Well this week is a Happy Anniversary to all WOYWWers! 3 years to be precise since Mrs Dunnit, of Stamping Ground deemed Wednesdays to be the day of the desk! To celebrate some of us are giving away an atc...., so if you follow me on the list don't forget to email me with your address so I can send it to you, and in keeping with the celebrations of WOYWW, I have decorated my desk..AND... wait for it... ADDED A MEZZANINE Shelf!!!!

The idea was a brainwave borne out of last week's post, and as all ideas come to be ( when lying in the bath!! LOL) I asked my long suffering hubby to build me a mezzanine floor on my desk! I am loving it....a place to put all the stamp holders, and bottles, and of course to get it really messy!! Perfect for hanging the bunting for the Diamond Jubilee!

WOYWW 150!

It's that day again.. you know the one in the middle of the week that comes between Tuesday and Thursday and involves a desk, and in my case this week tidiness! Wednesday, but not any Wednesday, a Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the delectable Mrs Dunnit! This week it is the 150th edition! Yea! I am showing you my rather tidy desk at Ally Pally on Saturday. I remembered to take a picture as I was chatting to some of the woywwers who popped by to see me , and pick up their freebie! It was fab to meet a few of them :) Bribery and corruption has always worked..LOL

I didn't take many pictures last weekend, but I did manage to capture a couple of pieces before I gave them away....

Very neat and tidy!!with stamps ready to pack for The Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace this weekend.In the background the ubiquitous mobile, pen and coffee cup and a tissue, ( not sure why thatis there!? )all just in case!!! LOL  Almost everything is packed in boxes, just ready to unpack again... it is a weekend of unpacking and packing up boxes! I love seeing everyone, and if you are the proud owner of one of these,

Woyww...sunny side up

Well it is Wednesday again, and time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday and this time the sun is shining into my window, creating lovely patterns and keeping my back warm while I type this post. Now I know you are going say sun? middle of the night? ...well I do sometimes pre-write my posts as midnight really isn't my bag... I am usually tucked up nice and warm in my bed.. unless of course I am up trying to post on Julia's links!!! I loved it when  it started at 6am.. was always awake then and raring to go.. now it is just a bit too late for me.. sorry Julia! lol
So,, back to business, and a relatively clear desk, with a few odds and ends on it...black tags,a handle for my journal...a canvas which has been ceremoniously dumped, a new type of alcohol ink, which I really must try and test out... and the general mess of my working desk! Nothing new, except the sun... let's hope it stays out all week!

What's On your workdesk? Wednesday ..my big fat journal

It's a big fat Workdesk Wednesday in my world! ... look at these, two, new to me,  but old, VERY large Ledgers on my desk, an acquirement from a certain auction site last week.... now just to find the inclination to cover up the pages with my doodlings and journaling! Why a picture of my overloaded desk?, which is very neat and tidy underneath the books, which also have the detriment of the workshop emptied from the weekend...(well, a stamp or two and a few distress markers) ... well a certain lady named Mrs Dunnit who insists we show our workdesks every Wednesday!

 Hurrah! I get to visit wonderfully creative desks in the world of blogging! If you show me yours, I will be round to comment:)

woyww......clean up Wednesday

It's that day again..you know the one in the middle of the week, where we all gather together to drink tea or coffee in hyperspace, and discuss the ways of the crafting world at What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday! The hostess with the mostest is Mrs Dunnit, who presides over us all with a full teapot ! Now if you are a regular follower of mine you will know that I have a tendency to have a mess on one desk and work on another ( a well kept secret!), but I have had the tidy up pixies in this week, and my desk is relatively speaking, clean!  You just can't see that I threw most of it in a box for sorting later.... I am always such a cheat!
Anyway, here is my desk, and tucked in the corner is my woyww badge from Julia for wearing at the next show I do ( more on that at a later date). Thank you Julia, it  will be worn proudly!  and the box on the desk is a little wooden one, that I have metallised on top, and Terraed to an inch of its life on the sides.

woyww...leaping high!

I love that we get an extra day in February! It means I have an extra day to tidy up my absolutely disgustingly untidy desk! Spot the pens, and the piled up bottles and boxes.. I really do need a tidy up pixie!! Both pictures were taken in daylight, but it has been very murky here...

 I was extremely lucky last week and managed to get number 1 in Julia's amazing blog hop What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, but did time dictate that I could visit all of yours?.. sadly I have been busy and only made it to a few...( hangs head in shame). I did start out with good intentions, but failed miserably. A big thank you to everyone who visited, it is always much appreciated.
Now since my desk is in such a mess, I reverted to my other desk... I do cheat a bit sometimes... but all I can show you is space (ooh how lovely) and my favourite coffee mug! as I am working on top secret projects!! lol

Anyway since today is the 29th day of February, and since it only comes round once every four years, we have a special on our website today , ( you will need to visit our facebook page for the details) and although I know technically I am not supposed to advertise on woyww, as this only happens once every four years.. do you think Julia , Queen of desks will let me? ( grovelling here Julia....lol)
I am absolutely going to try to find time to visit all of the desks this week, as way of a thank you for being number one last week...

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 142

As my son or daughter would say.. this week's post for What's on Your Workdesk, now famous by way of the tv,(  allegedly mentioned by Dyan on QVC!!) probably is an epic fail! I am supposed to show you my desk , and all its glory or in my case, all its downfall, but I haven't used it, and the mess piling up on it is far too much for me to show you!! So in order for me to join in here is a picture of my desk at the Stitches trade show where I was lucky enough to join in a retailers workshop with the Duke of Distress, and his assistant the Queen of journaling... Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley. It was very busy and fun filled afternoon, and for the first time ever I had my photo taken with him!
