WOYWW 174…Deja Vu

Once again, Wednesday has arrived with a vengeance, and in my case a horrible sniffly cold, which is making me feel quite horrid Sad smile I am never one to complain, but I don’t often get colds, so all I want to do is wrap up warm, and make it go away! Now, of course Wednesday is the day of What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the glorious Julia, who has deemed it necessary to show our workspace for a moment or two in the world of hyperspace. So, here is mine Smile taken at Port Sunlight, ( very similar to last weeks) where we did our last show there after 14 years of driving up the motorway twice a year. Love the show, love my customers up there.. shall miss it, but time to concentrate on other things, including the shop, and our new workshop which will be almost fully functional next weekend ( 13th October) ! yea!!

I hope to get round to yours this week…and if I don’t, a big thank you to everyone who comments…
Have a creative woyww day

woyww-tea and sympathy

Hello, and welcome to the the first post I have written in a week! Today is the middle of the week, the day that we show our desks to the world at What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday,  and in my case..not! I have spent the last week, doing???? Well, last Wednesday I met a road kerb, and believe it or not broke my big toe! For those of you who have never done this, it is painful, and means you cannot lift much as it is a load bearing toe! there's fact for you! On Friday I played the white van man, and had to drive to Port Sunlight-fab show as always! I love this show as I get to re- meet lotsof clever friends, including Sarah Anderson, who managed to get published in Stamper Sampler this month.. check this out! She used The Artistic Stamper stamps!

and here is a little photo of one of the samples I made on Saturday using the new alcohol inks from Letraset, which will be on the website later today!

On Sunday I rested, and on Monday it was back to work! Now normally I would show my desk here, but not much is happening, so last night I went to a crop, and here is my equally boring desk from there as I spent it gluing pages together for an altered book!

Of course, I had to break my toe ( poor toe! lol) on the week that I am heading up to Harrogate to take a workshop with Dina Wakley! So please forgive me if I am not here this week, but I promise normal service will be resumed soon!
Now please hop, skip and jump to Julia's for all those magnificent desks!
have a very creative day, I am off to get get a cup of tea!

It's a Bird week!

When I was at Port Sunlight on Saturday, I spent the day demonstrating Tim's new bird cage die, using Ten Seconds Studio metal and tags. I think I am hooked on them, and we have plenty in the shop. I distressed inked the tags, and then sprayed them with Crafty Notions mica sprays and let the tags dry. I then stamped on top with distress ink. I used a TSS mould to emboss the metal. Add the metal to some card and humngo tape to make a sandwich, and then run it through the Big Shot to cut out the bird. Easy Peasy! I even added the wing made from left overs. The metal was sprayed with Mica sprays and some Precious metal colour added to them too. I had great fun making these.
This one was made wby accident, and really does need a little more work, but the Birdcage was cut out by accident, and I just added it to the tag.

It is not often that I moan about shows, but sadly my little wooden book bird has gone missing. He was hanging up beside me, and I cannot find him anywhere :(. I fear he has flown to a new home, let's hope he is happy there and the person who has him looks after him....
Take flight today and be creative!

Port Sunlight, London, and a Winner!

I am so sorry, I should have done this yesterday, but Port Sunlight exhausted me (I think I am now too old to be doing shows! ..lol) and I spent a wonderful day in London seeing a very good friend, and then my daughter, and shopping! Port Sunlight was such fun as always, and I met up with so many people, and had a blast, making metal birds ( when I wasn't outside have a quick blast of the sun!!!rofl), and generally having fun! It was good to see Wendy and Sue, and Lorraine, and Sid, and so many others.
One of the friendliest shows I go to. Yesterday, I spent with my friend Sulie from Vienna, and we talked a lot, and went shopping in the antique market in Covent Garden, and ate lots, and talked some more, and then met up with my daughter and talked even more...lol
A fun day! Back to work today :(
I know you want to know who won the Tim Holtz die and the little bird, so here without much further ado, is the winner chosen by Random.org...
Please email me your snail mail address, so I can send you your candy!
Have a great day!

Another video

This time, just a quick insight into Port Sunlight and one of my workshops. I really didn't get a lot of time to film last weekend, so it it just a few clips of the show, and the workshop!
I am only just discovering editing and adding music, so be patient with me please! lol
Hope you like, and I will be doing another how to video very soon.

Blog Candy Winner and a Short Movie!!!!!

This past weekend, I have returned from the wonderful show held twice a year at Port Sunlight. To me this is the best show of the year, as it a Stamp Festival, and run by a club of rubber stampers in the North West of England. Next May is the 21st show, and I plan to be there to help them celebrate their wonderful achievement. Unbeknownst to me, Mal took a very very short video of me on the Saturday putting the final touches to the stand, and I spent a little time making it into a video for you :) This year Amanda Bateman demoed, alongside Craig from Marking World, and it was lot of fun. I did miss demoing though, and definitely will be doing so next time.

Finally, the winner of the candy is.... drum roll.......
CAZZY
Congratulations! Please email me , so I can send your candy.
Over the next week, I will showcase some of the gorgeous artwork done for me by the Creative Team for the show....so bookmark and check back regularly.
