Dear Blog, I am keeping my promise to you, and trying to blog more often...whether I keep it up will really depend...but for the moment, I am getting there... I mean the weather is rather nice today and the sun is beating through my window, and the lure of sitting with a long cool drink does speak volumes! But, in the meantime, later this week we will have a few new stamps , and this is just a sneaky peek of one of them stamped three ways... I used archival ink, distress ink, and distress paint and stain... sorry only a sneaky peek, but if you fancy a chance of winning this stamp... I will be giving away one of them towards the weekend... all you have to do is comment on this blog post :)

New Day! New Month! New Blog! New Stamps!

I cannot believe that it is August! We have been steadily working towards today here at The Artistic Stamper. We have a New Blog dedicated to our Creative Team. We have new stamps yippee!
We have lots of opportunities to win blog candy, and we have a new blog challenge too! All this in the space of a day!!
Alongside all this inky goodness, Hels has a chance for you to win even more blog candy over at The Sunday Stamper! which is sponsored by The Artistic Stamper.  I am so excited, and I have even forgone my sleep to stay awake, and load all the new inkiness on the website for you!!
I did even manage to make ART today just for the new blog Challenge, Something Old, Something New, which I am also entering in Sunday Stampers.. oooh do you think Hels will let me win??rofl!!
I made this piece using and old wooden jigsaw piece as the base, and added the new flowers in grungepaper, and one of the new birds peeping behind. If I let you into a secret please don't tell anyone, but I dropped alcohol ink all over the outer flower when I was trying to recolour the jewelled brad.. oops! disaster!  But I just dropped alcohol ink on all the other petals, and it seemed to make it stand out better!

I am off now to see what is happening on The Creative Team Blog and have a glass of Champagne to celebrate...
Just as an aside I haven't chosen the winner of the blog candy yet, as it is just after midnight, and I will do that later on today... watch this space for the winners.. did I say winners???? *sneaky grin*
Happy Creating!

Curiouser and curiouser!

I have had very little time to create anything even a journal page, as by 9pm, I am on the sofa falling asleep! We have had masses of deliveries this week, and if you are on my email list, you will have seen all the new goodies on the website!
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland were beautifully drawn by Mabel Lucie Attwell for Lewis Carroll in 1910, and I have had access to some of the drawings, and there will be more, but I have pre-released some of them for you here. They will ship at the end of the week.
There are some amazing quotations and anomalies associated with Lewis Carroll, and in particular Alice, and needless to say in our mad world here at The Artistic Stamper, we often find humour ...so I wasn't surprised to find one of our robins entering the mad world of Lewis Carroll and Alice yesterday afternoon!  Just to say no more than my DH has a very warped sense of humour! lol
Have a great Sunday and pop over to Hels blog for the chance to win some candy at the Sunday Stamper.

Distressed Flower Fever!

The title sounds like a song, or even an illness! In this case it is a tag , absolutely perfect for a present for a friend! I have a thing at the moment for flowers, and to fuel my passion, I designed more flower stamps for use with Grungepaper, or just ordinary patterned paper. I used two of the solid stamps, and one of the outline stamps from the  Flower Fever die sheet and lots of purple distress ink to make this little tag.
The solid stamps were stamped and then distress stickled in the same colours. Don't you love the fact that all the Adirondack colours go together , with the colours just slightly different depending on the medium?
I cut out the flowers in different sizes on Grungepaper , and inked them in Peeled Paint and Dusty Concord, and layered them on top of the ones on the tag adding a Idea-ology Flower  and long brad on each. A purple ribbon, and the tag is ready!

Have a Creative Day!

A Plethora of stars!

I have just uploaded the new stamps for the month onto the website, and you will see why I couldn't give you a sneak peek, as they are way to easy to guess!( well that is my excuse anyway!) There are two star backgrounds, a little sheet of stars in different formats and a brand new sheet of flowers perfect for making your own flowers with grungepaper or just paper!

Off now to play with the new stamps in the hope that some of the inspiration I have seen while blog hopping will transfer itself to my mojo!

2 Days to Go!

It is always very strange launching a new range of stamps, as the emotions are mixed always for me.. will you like them?.. will the Creative Team like them? Do they do as they say on the box? I don't think these will disappoint, but I always welcome criticism, so please do let me know when they are launched on Friday.
Her is today's sneak peek, and as usual the first person to guess correctly will win the stamp.

Have a brilliant Wednesday, and just as a matter of interest my followers appear to have disappeared. I am on IE7, so if anyone else has the same problem, please can you let me know.. I think it is a blogger problem:(

Can you guess this one?

For the past few days I have been moulding RUBBER for the Ally Pally show, and now we are in the process of packing all the boxes, and hoping I haven't forgotten anything. ooh I have some lovely "stuff", We are just putting the final touches to the new stand for alcohol inks that Mal built. There are so many now, that I designed a stand for them and he built it! Are you coming? Please drop by and see us, and mine is a cappucino with sugar! lol
I shall be demoing this year, the first time for a while.. Did I say I was nervous?
If you can't make Ally Pally, we will be at Artisan (workshops available)in Leamington Spa the weekend after , and at Happy Stampers in Port Sunlight ( my favourite show) the weekend after that. After that I shall just fall asleep! All the show details are on the website
Okay I know you are bored now by my waffling, so here is the 2nd sneak peek

Suddenly this looks a bit bizarre, but don't worry all will be revealed in 4 days.....

Christmas comes early...

I have never been one for making or even thinking about Christmas earlier than the first week in December, but in the crafting world, everyone releases Christmas around July, and here at The Artistic Stamper we are no exception! There are 2 NEW plates of mini Christmas now released on the website. I love these as they are favourite stamps but so much smaller! They all fit into a mini plate approximately 12cm x 7 cm . Just tiny! perfect for ATC's or in my case mini cards. This weekend there is FREE postage and packing and spend over £30 and you get free postage AND 10% off too!
I am going to try to declutter my workshop today, and make some art! I feel Christmas coming on..lol

Released- the new stamps and the winners!

I am sorry I may have kept some of you waiting for this post..lol but here it is!
The new stamps you have all been guessing are now on the website and here is one of my favourites.. actually they all are.. but then new stamps always have a fascination! This is Flower Power and is perfect for stamping onto Grungepaper and making roses or flowers, stamping onto printed paper, stamping with the new background stamps, or just distress inking! Now to the WINNERS, although everyone who took part is a winner to me!
Day 1- sadly no one guessed this but it was bit hard.. sorry :( It is the flower from the above set.
Day 2- was a film strip and Katharine, you need to contact me to get your prize!
Day 3- much easier- it was a jigsaw piece! and the winner is Claireabelle- Congratulations and please email me your address
Day 4- Chicken Wire and the winner is Paula- Congrats and please send me your address, so I can send you your stamp.
Finally there are 21 separate stamps, and no-one exactly guessed, so the nearest guess was Anesha with 20 and Anita with 22! ! So email me your address and the WHOLE set of stamps will be winging its way to you both!
I do hope you like the new stamps, and I know you have liked playing, so you never know I may do more soon.....
Just to say ALL the new stuff is now on the website , including Tim Holtz new stamps too, and you can see everything here. Oh and you have to see the miniature suitcases that are new too! Just heaven in a box! I do have to take a picture of the inside , but believe me they are exquisite.
Watch tomorrow for new and exciting news, and if you are lucky some artwork from me using the new stamps!

Final peek

Tomorrow the stamps will be on the website.. so today a final chance to guess the number, and to guess this stamp.....

I know some of you are perplexed by the previews, but this one is easy ( isn't it?) , so get the name right and the first one to comment correctly wins it! I have to confess I have never previewed stamps before , so this is a new one on me, what do you think? Is it a good idea or not? let me know please. Good luck to all who guess and don't forget to guess the number of stamps too.. you can have as many guesses as you like...

Have a great day

Another peek, and guess the number..

Thank you for all the comments yesterday, and the day before.. Of course I cannot say anything until I release them (I hope you like them?), but I shall announce the winners on Friday. You ask are there any winners.. shhh, my lips are sealed..hehe :)
Today I thought let's give you another sneak peek, this one is easy, and there are no cryptic clues, sorry yesterday's was so lame! I never was any good at them! And also today and up to Friday, if you guess how many stamps there are being released you can win the WHOLE set! and I shall throw in 2 pieces of Kling-On too! Now there is a clue!!!! This is not the number of sets (are there any?, you ask) but the ENTIRE number of single stamps. I will ship anywhere in the world too.

Happy Guessing

Sneak Peek no 2

I have to confess, as I know what these are I probably have made the sneak peeks a little small! I think you might get this one... they can be a bit puzzling...but who am I to say?
I also have a little bit of artwork , not made with with the stamp, I hasten to add, but with my lovely Penny Black stamps that I bought a few weeks ago. This was a quick Thank you card for my friend who owns the cottage we stayed in in The Black Mountains. I used a piece of chipboard for the main bit on the card and distress inks. The stamps were stamped in Distress ink too, and lightly spritzed with a mini mister before stamping. Guess the stamp, and you can win it!
Happy Stamping!

Distress Tag & more New Stamps!

Today I wanted to use some of the new stamps that I have just loaded onto the website , and make a little something for you to look at. I started off using a glossy postcard from Judikins, but it was a mess and ended up in the bin! So I took a glossy tag I had , and ended up with a new technique, well certainly to me!
I used broken china and faded jeans and using the distress foam pads went over the tag. I spritzed it, and then wiped the actual inkpad over the wet tag. This is similar to the crumpled effect of Mr Holtz's.
I then heat dried the tag. It was fab! I then embossed the Time girl with Holographic powder and heated for different lengths of time, so you get the different colours. Sadly when I did this the tag colours melted together and the effect was mostly lost. I was more than disappointed, but I rectified it with the new smudge background( already planned ) and some Prima flowers and a little tag stamped on an old dictionary page from a dictionary I keep by my desk all the time. It has proved invaluable!

For those of you who like blog candy (and who doesn't?) I have some for the month of June! All you have to do is comment on the post above (kept there till Saturday June 20th), and post it on your blog about the giveaway.
