It's a card!!

I am renowned for never making cards! They just don't come into my remit for creating, but occasionally, I will create one. Often I will have an idea and the whole thing turns out completely different. On this occasion, I made one for the class I taught, and another one in the class, which I preferred!
 I used The Crafter's Workshop stencil for the background, Tim's Tattered Floral die, and one of The Artistic Stamper butterflies stamped onto craft plastic and attached to a curly wire to create it. Lots of Distress Paint, and a little Texture Paste mixed with Distress Paint,  through a stencil for the words.
This was the card I made and gave to my mum for Mothering Sunday! I think she liked it! Lol

Musically speaking...

I just had time this weekend to create something for the Sunday Stamper hosted by the delectable Miss Sheridan! The theme this week is music, and I wanted to use the new empty jar stamp. I had an idea to stamp it into clear utee, and fill it with music, which I have done. Easy to say, not quite so easy to do, however! I did manage successfully to stamp the bottle into clear utee poured onto a craft sheet. While it was till relatively warm, I trimmed around the bottle, and bent it over a round form, so you get the bottle shape. The utee remains fairly fragile once it has cooled, so handle it with care. If you mess it up just remelt and start again!
 A smattering of perfect pearls coloured the bottle. I glued an old music sheet to the inside of it, and using my still going silicone glue ( I am truly amazed by this!), I glued it to a mini canvas , which I painted in Claudine's Modern Red Studio paint , and covered with gold Mica spray while still wet. A few of the teeny weeny flowers from the Flower blooms stamp set decorated the edge.

I made gold metal flowers backed on Sticky back canvas from Tim's Tattered Floral die, and ran them through an embossing die. Smoosh a bit of red paint on a non stick crafts sheet and whoosh the flowers through it to get the raised edges red. Do you like the terminology? lol smoosh and whoosh!!

 I love the texture from the canvas through the metal. I added wire to the flowers , and slid them inside the jar.
The photos definitely do not do this justice sad face:( It was seriuosly difficult to photograph!

Shaping along nicely...

I am referring to the  Lots to do Challenge, where shapes are the order of the day. I took lots of shapes, a jigsaw shape as a base, large, shapes from Tattered florals, leaves from Wendy Vecchi, kindly left by Hels (thank you), and letter shapes from the girls paperie.

I gessoed the jigsaw shape, and distress inked it in shades of yellow, with a tinge of black on the edges. I added the letters, and the cut out floral shapes ( which are in mountboard, which nearly killed my machine! grr) and distress inked them, added Rock candy crackle paint to the letters, added buttons, mini grungepaper roses and idea-ology to the flowers.

Recipe for Floral Happiness!

Ever since I saw a post on my good friend Wendy's blog about an evening she spent cutting out fabric flowers from the Tattered floral die, I have wanted to try it. here is my recipe for them!
Ingredients: Masses of fabric scraps in co-ordinating colours (hunt down bits in your local charity shop), a Tattered Floral Die , a sewing needle, cotton thread, a bead or two, a large eyelet, and a good pair of eyes ( these are needed for threading the needle!!)
Method: Cut out the flowers in lots of colours, pile them up high together, and scrunch. Sew tightly from the back squeezing the material so it bunches up, add a bead or punch a large eyelet through the front....add a brooch back or not!...Floral Happinesss......
