woyww..last episode of the year!

Wow! I seem to have taken a small holiday from here..no blog posts since last Friday, and yet it seems to have been ages since I sat down and typed a post! That's what Christmas does to you.. slows you down, makes you larger than you were a week ago..( too much turkey!...sorry chocolate! lol) So today is Wednesday and the last post of the year for What's on Your Workdesk, hosted by our Queen, Julia! She has suggested that this week we take pictures of our other work surfaces.. well mine are a complete bore! Just piles of food in the kitchen, and not much else anywhere else.. just quite boring really! But, I did get a new camera for Christmas courtesy of the packing pixie, and it has panorama on it... the wonders of modern science! I feel lots of great photos at shows coming on! So I panoramaed ( is that a word?) my desk this morning in the dark!! I seem to have the wobbles with this new camera, so guess I should read the instructions, and as I need a memory card can only take about 5 pics with it!

I did take a picture of my Christmas tree too...but it looks a bit lonely without the pressies under it!! lol

Hope you all had a great Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year too!
Happy Woywwing!

Configure it!.... it is Christmas Time!

Finally Christmas Eve is here! I have a busy day today baking those mince pies for Father Christmas and sampling the port I will leave for him tonight! hic! You probably think I am mad... well you would be right! I even have the carrots ready for Rudolph!
My childishness may be silly, but at this time of year, I reflect back to the days when I was a child, and the wonderful Christmas times we had! I always tried to give my own children the same, and even now they are grown up, some things stay the same:))
I have created a Configurations box, containing some of the favourite things that remind me of Christmas!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Creative New Year!

I'm dreaming of a pink Christmas...

I have tried to make alternative tags for you , and this one is PINKish!!:)) I know Christmas is red green, gold, silver , every colour except pink! But I wanted something different and this suited the bill! I ran the tag through an embossing folder, and dragged a white dabber over it, and then added distress inks, spritzed and wiped off! The baubles are made from Tissue tape and punched out with a circle punch, and then alcohol inked.. Add pink ribbon.!

I cannot believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and as per usual I havent wrapped a present, decorated the tree or much else for that matter! But I will, I always do, then it is into my pj's I( ihave no intention of doing much over Christmas Day!!) and no work for me for a couple of days! I will be back tomorrow with something special for you
Have a non stressful day!

woyww...Happy Christmas edition

I often wake up on a Wednesday morning at a silly time (I wake up most mornings before the rest of the world!) , and start my post for What's On your Workdesk, and wonder do people really want to look at my messy desk? Shall I bother, after all it is much the same every week... doesn't change a lot...has the same half full bottles every week.. same soggy paintbrushes, and same inkpads on it. and every week I go through this dilemma, but I realised that people are nosy, and like peek into other people's worlds! So here I am again posting my not even remotely Christmassy desk..ok there is a tag in the making there and a gorgeous Advent book given to me by Hels on it.. but not much else, so I added a Christmas tree for you! looks a little wonky, and forlorn on its own :((( but it does have snow! lol

Happy Christmas my fellow woywwers with love from me to you...:))

Let it snow...

I am old enough to remember the snowy winter of 1962-63...oh come on I am not THAT Old!! lol, My Dad made a sledge out of an old tin tray and me and my sisters used it on the hill by our house! This December reminds me of that year , but I am afraid the days of tin trays have long gone! I mean how ridiculous would that be ...me on a tin tray sledging.. ooh YES! a great idea! I think I will find myself a tin tray..rofl!!! In the meantime I have travelled on the trains to North London, seen my Mum (who is on the mend slowly) , and met up with DD in London (boy there were long lines at St Pancras for Eurostar!)  come home to fresh falls of snow, and even had time to make another tag! I have to say on another note to everyone who is snowed in we are still taking orders on the website and everything that goes out this week will be recorded, so we can track it.. doesn't mean you will get it any quicker , just so we can see you have got it! ..eventually....
Here is my tag for the day: ddistress ink background, embossed tag, Stickers from Seasonal Sticker book, and a little snowman charm covered in snow dabber!

Have a creative day !
Keep warm....

Tag 6 ish

For those of you bright enough to realise , yesterday's tag was actually number 5 , and so today I am blogging tag number 6... actually really does it matter?... I am creating and having a bit of snowbound fun! I really should be making cards..not that they will be going anywhere..the post in the UK is pretty awful with packages stuck in sorting offices, and snow thick on the ground in most places! I heard along the grapevine there isn't much in Hel's country!! lol, but she is making tags too, and giving them away.. just check out here!
Today's tag is is of the old-fashioned type.. a bit aged round the edges with a gorgeous ( not made by me..salvaged cones and bauble hanging) I used antique linen distress ink to colour with aged mahogany to edge. I added a Tim Holtz Merry Christmas in Barn Door Distress ink, and then clear embossed. The holly leaves were inked in distress ink greens, and a little bit of stickles made up the holly berries.

I have shown you mine, so if you have been making tags..come on show me yours....and add it to the sidebar linky thingy to win goodies!
I am off today to brave the cold and snow.. ( who am I kidding?..I have thick boots, gloves.. coat, scarf, hat...lol) to see my mum.. so I may not be back ... here's praying the trains don't get stuck on the ice...the roads stay clear, and the snow stays away! I expect I am living in lala land.. but am keeping my fingers crossed x
Keep warm.. and be creative!

Tag 444! snowbound!

This is tag no 444! OK I am lying..it is only tag 4 of my withdrawal...not sure why as I thought I had done a tag everyday since T!m's gorgeous tags, but seem to be lagging behind! lol The snow heavens opened yesterday here, and we are surrounded by gorgeous white stuff! Sadly I am not able to get to see my Mum who is in hospital, so hoping to get there tomorrow. Mind you the trains are running.. that is in itself a miracle but she has ordered me not to make the trip! Think that was the influence of the morphine... so I have obeyed and been a good girl! For those of you who sent their wishes, thank you it is much appreciated, and there is a long way to go..but all is good at the moment :)
In the meantime while snowbound, I made a little tag. This time I used an embossing folder of the Snowman. I embossed it once on a tag and cut out the snowman in negative, and laid it on top of a distress inked tag, and just used a pearl dabber to make out the snowman before running the inked tag back through the embossing die. Does that make sense? I was going to clear emboss some snowflakes on the tag, but horror! I cannot find my pot of clear embossing powder! Mislaid in the piles of *stuff* filling my studio!! So I dabbered them instead!
Add a sticker from the seasonal sticker pad .. snow has come to my tags!!

I am entering this in Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge as well as my own ( not that I can win anything...but it is just fun!)
Keep warm

Colour Christmas Red and Green!

It is cold here in the UK with snow in some parts, and heading our way in the south east tomorrow!! I am snuggled up, not! and not sure if I can cope with another bout of snow where the council can't clear the roads, and everything grinds to a halt!!  Christmas is only a week away (HELP!!)  and I still have lots to do, and yes I am keeping up with my tags for the Tag withdrawal challenge, albeit that I might be blogging them a little slow...lol
Today I have made the most simplest of tags using one of Tim's Alterations embossing folders ( Merry Christmas and Vintage Holiday). So simple, just emboss it on the tag, and colour with Distress inks. (err I used red and green!) and add a small amount of Perfect Pearls powder in gold on the top half, add a red sparkly ribbon, and secure with sewing .. I can still see to thread a a needle ! result!

On a sadder note, my Mum has to go into hospital tomorrow for a major operation, so although I have done another tag for tomorrow, I have no idea what next week will bring,  but the challenge is open until after Christmas ( you can even enter your Tim tags if you are still making them, and I know some people are :)) and I will be round to see them.
Have a creative day!

Tag a long with me!

I have to say that I am quite enjoying making more tags even though my time has been limited! For this one I used Claudine's Sticky Back Canvas, and using Tim's technique of spraying it with Adirondack Color Wash and Perfect Pearls Mist is so satisfying, especially if you the patience to let it dry overnight! I then stamped on top with Merry Christmas , added highlights with the white enamel Accents, and stamped the snowflake "Kling-On stamp" I made from the Snow Flurries On the Edge Die using Snow cap dabber.

If you fancy joining in my challenge to make a tag and perhaps win goodies ( I will photograph the goodies tomorrow) , then just add your tag to the linky on my sidebar.. no pressure but I would love to see what you have made:))
Happy Creativity!

woyww... a cheat's view

Every Wednesday I try to take a great inspiring picture of what is my workdesk! this week failure! all it is, is a big pile of inks and stash which I swept aside when making Tim's tags! I also have to confess that this picture was taken Tuesday am before it got light, and is a little bit out of focus ( makes for artistic license perhaps?!! lol) You can see the tag I was in the process of finishing for yesterdays' post! So am I cheating or not? That is the question? I quite like the view I took too, just as I see it from my chair....

If you haven't the faintest idea what I am talking about popover to Julia's and have a gander around all the creative desks :))Will be popping over to yours later....
Happy Woywwing!

Tag withdrawal symptoms...

Do you have them? Do you keeping going to your computer to see what the next tag is? Do you get out your inks, stamps and dies...look at them and think where are the instructions? Tim's tags were so much fun, and with such easy simple instructions, meant we had our creativity given to us for 12 days! Bliss! I copied as faithfully as I could..not because I am a copycat but because I wanted to see if I could! Now I am taking the best bits and creating some of my own tags..keeping in the Christmas spirit! Did you know it is only 11 days to Christmas? I haven't sent any cards, done the minuscule amount of Christmas shopping..not decided what we are having for Christmas dinner yet (it is just the two of us.. that's a day in my pj's, I think!!! lol) and I still have to find a real tree ( we always do real!) that isn't going to make the bank manager have a heart attack!!
So I am going to try to blog a new tag everyday (Jennie style! lol) and here is the first one! here I used the crackle paint effect on the Snowman die. I embossed the tag with the Tall Pines, and coloured with distress inks, added a branch or two from the bare tree, which I covered liberally with Picket Fence Distress Stickles ( I allowed it to dry overnight to get maximum effect) . Added a bit of Dabber paint to his hat , a flowing Tartan scarf, voila Jen's Tag no 1!

Want to join me ? let me know if you are up for it, and I will add a linky to the blog ,-edited: I have added a linky at the top of my blog.. just add your tags :)) for stash giveaway! If I make 11 tags it will be a miracle!! lol  I am going to enter this in my own challenge over on The Creative Team blog too!
Have a creatively tagful day!

On the twelfth Day of Christmas...

Mr Holtz gave us a tag! I have to say I will be quite sad in the morning when I have no inspiration to wake up to! However he has given us some wonderful tags to work with, and all inspiring! The final tag used one of my favourite dies, and I did do as he said, but sadly my crackle isn't as thick as I would like, and I didn't have the stamp, so substituted it with one of the stickers from the Lost and Found stickers, which fit perfectly!
Here is my final tag, and I am pleased as punch that I finished them.. and so inspired that I  may be back tomorrow ( if I have the energy!! ) with one of my own.

Off now to add it to ArtyJen's ever growing list:)
Have a creative evening

Tag 10 & 11....

I was playing catch up today with Tim's Tags in readiness for tomorrow and the last one! when really I should have been Christmas shopping! oh well always tomorrow...lol I have had immense fun making these and just love following his instructions... easy peasy! I actually spent the day at Pickleberry and nearly managed to completely wreck my snowflake embossing folder.. don't ask! me and machines do not go together!! Kate even had some of the sparkly fluff for the tree. just call her if you need any! On a happy note, I had no fun foam to make the stamps with so used Kling-On which works perfectly , and stamps beautifully, and added bonus has the double sided tape attached to it! yea!
I am entering these into our Creative Team Christmas challenge and ArtyJen's splinter group! lots of goodies to be won on both ( err... actually I can't win anything...lol) If you are looking for the ingredients for these 2 tags.. we have them in the shop:))

Have a very Creative evening, and see you for the last tag tomorrow. pouting lips.. will miss the challenge of making a different tag everyday!

Tag 9..just in time!

I am so loving Tim's Tags, and yes I finished tag 9, which is my favourite one so far until the next one! I have got up early this morning to blog this one, just before the next one! slipped in my the skin of my teeth :)

I loved all the Perfect Pearls on it, and just the look of it!  I guess you could call me lucky as I do have the ingredients for this one, and they are all available in the shop including the rosette die. I am entering it for ArtyJens alternative group, just because I can, and because I am raising numbers for it, so I can give away more goodies! lol
I am off to have a cup of tea, and sit patiently for Tim's next tag...
Have a very creative Day

On the Eighth Day Of Tagging...

I made another tag almost the same as Tim,( he, who gives extremely good instructions) I had most of the bits, but no silver wire, so coloured mine up with white dabber, and made rather a mish mash of the tag while inking. It is covered up, so not visible! Love the technique of masking, and if you haven't seen I have made another tag over on The Creative Team blog.
I love the challenge of this every day, but not sure if I could do more than 12 days.. I am seriously tired!!! lol

Hoping to get round to some woyww desks later tonight if I don't fall asleep on the sofa!
Happy Creating!

woywww.. and a case of the missing mess!

It's Wednesday again, and time for What's on Your Workdesk! I have been busy this week, playing tags, and trying to work too! If you haven't a clue what I am talking about, check out Mr Holtz's blog, or one of my other posts!! Such fun, and a challenge I have set myself to try to do each tag on each day.. so far, almost so good..missed a day!.
I am amazed that my desk is so tidy.. not sure why, as I have been making Tim's tags all week since you last visited, but maybe it's the challenge I set myself or seeing evryone else's tidy desks has made me put stuff away! Anyways here it is....( taken last night before I finished the tag with the poinsettia)

I am not sure if I will get round to many desks this week...I must try harder!
Happy Woywwing!

On the 7th Day of Christmas...

Seven is my lucky number, but in this case I am not so sure! I absolutely loved the new technique I learnt today, and will definitely be doing that one again! The canvas painty technique adding the Perfect Pearls mists is fabulous! Very difficult to photograph, but if you get a chance try it out.. it is so sparkly, and very touchy feely! All the instructions are on Tim's blog. I wasn't very happy with my flower, and I didn't do it in a hurry, but think I should have looked at the picture before I stuck it on the wrong way round and had to redo it! Also green glittery hot glue doesn't really happen! It was everywhere! Maybe I should have edged the flower in it to use it up?

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the tags while blog hopping ( not sure when I have time to do it..but I have!)...and if you have a need for some of the ingredients we have a special offer on our website.. just put in the code 12tags and you get 12% off and a free set of a dozen manila tags too!
Have fun tagging!

It's the sixth Day of Tagging...

and my true love sent to me, a reindeer and a vagabond! I know it doesn't rhyme, but I don't care! I have finally managed to bust my electric Big Shot totally and completely, so am now hoping that Father Christmas will bring me a Vagabond!! Too much grungeboard, and it hates it! So I reverted to the trusty hand winding one, and here is my tag for today. Done in a bit of a hurry as off to meet my DD for dinner ... been a while since I saw her, so getting excited!! Little things please little minds!
I am entering this into ArtyJen's Splinter group for Tim's Tags and if you are so inclined you can also enter any Christmas make you have done, including your take on Tim's Tags into The Artistic Stamper's Creative Team challenge which this month is Christmas.

Happy Creating!

Two tags for the price of one!

Yesterday I was doing a great make and take at Pickleberry Papercrafts, which was great fun, and it was lovely to meet so many people! By the time I got home, there was very little time to do Tag 4 of Mr Holtz's Christmas marathon, so this afternoon, I positioned myself in my craft room, got out the inks, and went for it! So you have 2 tags today, one for yesterday and one for today!
I am sorely disappointed in myself , ans I had set myself a goal to do the tags on each of the days they are publish. I failed at the first post!! But does it really matter,. it is only a goal for me..not for anyone else, and if time takes over, so what , there is always tomorrow:)))
I quite pleased with tag no 4, but got frustrated with tag 5! Think that is the impatience in me!! lol

Have a very Creative evening!
