Creating Hearts!

After Christmas comes Valentine's Day, and I was asked by The Scrappy Tree if I would create something for their Create a Heart for Hope challenge , and of course how could I refuse! So I got my thinking cap on , and here is what I came up with the Love bag!

The bag  is tiny and I stencilled it with Ranger's Color Wash, and Perfect Pearls Mists, added a Sticky Back canvas heart which I embossed with Distress embossing powder in red, and added grungepaper wings and crown from Tim's Sizzix die. The letters are metal.

You can bid on this on eBay here, and all proceeds go to Save The Children-Haiti Relief. There are some absolutely fabulous other items for auction, so check out their other items too!Don't be put off that the auction is in the USA. The Scrappy Tree are multi national, and the bag is here in the UK should you bid on it!
Have a happy Creative day!

woyww....playtime!

It's that day again, Wednesday , middle of the week, 2 days to Friday and the weekend!  This week for our weekly perusal into the state of my desk, I have a new toy to show you! I admit, I haven't played with it much! I have however switched it on, and it works. BEAUTIFULLY! It is quiet, and smooth, and cuts like butter, and is ten times better than my old machine. Just keeping my fingers crossed I don't break it!! lol
I did get this one from the States, and is my birthday present from my mum!

Here is the state of my other desk... not much better than last week, but with the addition of a couple of gorgeous bits I picked up from my local junk store. one is a tin from Cadburys which is embossed with feet and a handle.

If you haven't a clue about why I am showing my desk, then hop, skip and jump over to our illustrious queen of desks, Mrs Dunnit, and check out all the other desks :))
Happy Woywwing!

Counting the days...

until my next workshop! lol Saturday was grey and cold, but we were all warm and cosy at Pickleberry Papercrafts! It was so lovely to see all my ladies and a man too! Thank you to Barbara, Rosemary, Nicks, Stan, Beth, Erin, and Carol for making the day so much fun!.  Here is everyone  busy creating!

and here is another one of my pages too! This one uses the transfer technique using Claudine's sticky back canvas, and scrapbook paper, and the tattered floral die. Such an easy process to do! Just place paper face down to the sticky back side of the canvas. Spritz with water and rub the paper off... voila a patterned canvas!

If you fancy having fun with me and creating a gorgeous Love box , we have a couple of spaces on next month's class on 12th February. Just call Kate to book.
Have fun creating

February is coming!

I know we aren't even in the last week of January yet, but I just had to show you February! Month of love, free stamps ( we have designed the free stamp on the front of Craft Stamper next month!), and lots of new goodies from your favourite companies!
I have a workshop at Pickleberry tomorrow which is making a calendar using Ranger techniques ( it got delayed from last month), and just thought February is so full of wonderful things, I would show that page. I used the embossing batik effect on this page, and Claudine's gorgeous stamps, a smooch of distress ink, and February is ready for whatever it holds!

For those of you who love Mr Holtz, we have just got in some of his hoodys and his aprons, and these are limited stock, so go have a peek at loveliness! You can even win one in my birthday blog post here! It ends on Sunday!
I have lots to do today, so must get on, and get moving!
Have a very Creative Day

woyww..what a mess!

It's Wednesday again, and I am just beginning to wake up this week! lol I really cannot believe that it has come round so quickly..I mean what happened to Monday and Tuesday?! I am totally ashamed of my desk which has no creativity on it, just one big mess! These are the bottles of paints and Terra I dumped on my desk Friday while getting ready for the weekend workshops! There really is no excuse.. except perhaps work took over, and I forgot to clear them up!

So if you are browsing the net and came across my blog by accident, then pop over to Julia's to see more desks, and why don't you join in?
We would love to have you
I am off to tidy up.. got creating to do!!
Happy Woywwing!

Cupboard Love!

Earlier this week, Hels asked me to name that tune, and come up with a song title for her Sunday Stamper challenge. Now I will be honest here, and say that my memory never serves me well, and I asked for help from the other half, who has an encyclopedia of songs and bands stored in his head!If it is rock n roll, he can tell you , who , where and when!! So he named  the songs and Hels chose one- Shine on You Crazy Diamond, by Pink Floyd, and I have been singing it while creating this piece.
For those of you who have spotted it I used a spare 2 inserts from a Configurations box, and cut one up  to form the cupboard front, and attached it with a diamond shape piece of Idea-ology paper. I used just one quarter of paper to create this, and covered the inside with it. The outside was crazed with Rock candy crackle paint , and sprayed with Perfect Pearls Turquoise Mist on the outside. I dabbed it off to make it dry quicker. I added lots of Tissue tape to the edges, and the inside is a gorgeous old doll's head with a diamond crown studded with diamonds!! of course they real... worth a fortune this box!!! rofl!! A button formed the handle, and beads made the legs.

Actually this is one of the pieces for a workshop I m doing on Sunday at Jendenink's, and if you would like to take part, then there is one place left! Just call the shop to arrange it .
Thank you Hels for the chance to be a songmaker! lol It has been fun !
Happy Creating!

Woyww...bird's eye view!

Firstly, I apologise if I haven't been visiting to your desk recently.. events have taken over, and what time I have has been working on some artwork for workshops, and filling orders! I promise to visit this week! My desk this week is the same as last week, not terribly tidy, and full of rubbish, just left where it was put last week!! lol
But it is Wednesday again, and time for Mrs Dunnit ( she who must be obeyed to allow us to show off our messes ( sorry creativity!).. so without much further ado... here is my space in full and glorious panoramic view from both sides! I must get outside with this new camera of mine... it will be like being on google earth!! lol
Anyway if you have never ventured into the land of the Wednesday desk..pop over to Julia's and take part.. such nosiness is encouraged!

an aside.. if you haven't joined in on my blog candy, then you really must!!it is a cracker!
Happy What's on your workdesk!

Designer of Dreams...

I have been busy doing nothing for the past few days!! Well that is not strictly true, but I haven't really made any art, even though I have desperately wanted to! Not sure if the mojo was on holiday with all his friends... or just hiding in a dark place in my studio!
At the moment, The Artistic Stamper has a sale on of Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 stamps.. and I thought what better way to kick start my creativity than to make an ATC using some of her stamps! I used the Manila ATC's from Ranger, and then added a smoosh of Distress ink in 3 colours, stamped Wendy's brilliant little tiny words using a distress ink. This makes them lighter than if you stamped with black, and then added the leaves and stalks from "Make Mine Mini Art" , and the words "Designer of Dreams" ( including the mini background from "Botanical Art". Loving that the Maya Road Bingo Motifs fit so well!

Have a very Creative Day!

Bonanza Birthday Candy!

I love birthdays! It is a time to celebrate, It is your day, so you get to be the centre of attraction...lol  We have always celebrated birthdays in our house, cake, candles, presents, cards.... They say you are only as old as you feel, and I feel 21!! you don't believe me?? hehe  ok, I cannot run as fast as I could, the wrinkles are appearing rapidly, I have put on a bit of weight, but I still love birthdays, and today I am older than yesterday, but younger than tomorrow!  I am lucky too, I get to share my birthday with The Tim Holtz!! I also get to share it with approximately 18 million others too! Capricorns unite! lol
I love to celebrate , so what better way to celebrate all the 5's!! than to give away a  Tim Holtz Hoody!!!

It can be yours if you just comment on this post. please add it to your sidebar too for another entry! I will close all comments on Sunday January 23rd and pick the winner on Monday 24th!
Good luck in the draw, and a big thank you to Mario for the modelling!
Hugs and Happy Birthday to you if it is yours too!

What happened to the last week? oh I remember we hit a New Year, and I have restarted work, and this morning I forgot it was a work day, so fell back asleep again! oh, and my desk looks the same as last week with an addition of a new journal and gorgeous little felt tips .. a pressie from my DD! oh and my Secret Santa too is on the desk, some great white paper and hidden in there mini bows and sparkly stones in black and white..yummy. Sorry should have shown you them, but I took the photo yesterday while it was light with my new camera , which I am still learning about. Really not sure about the pics it takes! I knew my old one, and am now having to learn about this one!!

If you have just arrived on my blog by spacecraft and haven't a clue why I am showing you a picture of my extremely messy desk... check out our leader's blog for all details! lol

This Charming Man!

I was right on track to blog every day so far. Trouble is, I forgot life, work, family, a complete lack of what on earth am I going to blog scenario reared its ugly head yesterday, and true to form, my New Year's resolution got broken!!! Hey does it matter, is the world going to fall in?  am I going to get eaten by my big shot, pinned down by my memo pins, attacked by my distress inks , if I don't make art everyday!!!????? probably!! lol So my new new resolution is to blog when I can.. hopefully more often than I did last year..so with that in mind, I liked the idea of Hels's Sunday Stamper challenge, and here is my charming man...

I used the Inspiration Jar and stamped it on Duralar , heated it gently and bent it slightly. I filled it with old clock and watch cogs , and added Phineas Pinchbeck to the top with a watch face. The Background is an Alterations music embossing folder layered onto a piece of Idea-ology Shabby Vintage. I know there really aren't charms in this.. but there is stamping!! lol
Thank you Hels for the challenge.
Have a very Creative day!

A curious scribble stain!

Oh my! I have been very good, and today is my second post of the year on 2.1.11!!! lol ( if I post tomorrow it will be a miracle! ) Today for the first time for ages I have entered Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge with Tim's scribble stain technique. It being Sunday, and still the holidays here in the UK until Tuesday..I have to say I have been quite lazy and just made a very quickie tag using the technique found on page 34 of Compendium of Curiosities book. Stamps used Mr Holtz's with a little snippet of The Artistic Stamper open Sequin waste!

Thank you Linda for the inspiration and challenge.
Happy Creating!
